                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE UTC CAMPUS
                   AREA MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN ON
                   SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1990 FOR THE "1990
                   UTC/ACE 5K ROAD RACE AND 1 MILE FUN RUN" AND
                   OTHER HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES SPONSORED BY
                   THE UTC ASSOCIATION FOR CAMPUS ENTERTAINMENT
                   UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of Vine Street from Douglas Street to Central
       Avenue, the temporary closing of the southbound traffic lane of
       Central Avenue nearest the west curb from Fifth Street to Oak
       Street, the temporary closing of the westbound traffic lane of 
Oak
       Street from Central Avenue to Douglas Street, the temporary
       closing of the northbound traffic lane of Douglas Street from Oak 

       Street to Fifth Street and the temporary closing of the eastbound 

       traffic lane of Fifth Street nearest the south curb from Douglas
       Street to Central Avenue from 7:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.; and the
       temporary closing of Fifth Street from Palmetto Street to Douglas 

       Street and the temporary closing of Collins Street from Third
       Street to Fifth Street from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Saturday,
       October 6, 1990 for the presentation of the "1990 UTC/ACE 5K Road 

       Race and 1 Mile Fun Run" and other Homecoming festivities
       sponsored by the UTC Association for Campus Entertainment (ACE),
       provided that the sponsors shall set out and pick up traffic
       cones, barricades, road closed and detour signs in accordance 
with
       the traffic control plan attached hereto and shall provide at all 

       times an access lane for fire and other emergency vehicles.
